The Story

Labyrinth Dinnerplate Dahlia produces 8-10" flowers on tall sturdy stems. Long-blooming, it’s a shimmering watercolor of pink, raspberry and apricot shades. These easy-care perennials stand tall at 4-5 ft. tall and need a full sun location in well-drained soil amended with compost and/or manure, plus fertilizer.

For maximum flowers and longest stems, pinch plant back by 3-4" once it’s reached a foot tall. Stake plants as they grow if needed and keep them well watered as they are growing. For cut flowers, pick when they are ¾ open and use flower food to extend bloom. Hardy to zones 8-10, in colder zones let the plants go through a frost or two to season them, then cut stems back to 3" and dig tubers. Brush or wash, let them dry for a day or two, then store in a cool (35-50 degrees F), dark space until planting time next spring.

Dahlias bloom late into summer and are a great pollinator plant for late summer.
